STUDENT LIFE IN LOCKDOWN

Never stop learning!

I like to share my experience as a student in lockdown. Honestly, just like every other student, I was really happy about the lockdown as it shut down many schools and colleges. Even our exams got cancelled. Who could have wonder there would come a time when exams could also be cancelled. I usually saw this in dreams. Well I had a lot of fun in the beginning days of lockdown. I never worried about time, didn't have to set an alarm and relaxed all day. Lockdown gave me an ample of time to watch different movies and shows. There was time when I thought there is no other show left for me! 

Spending all day with family was beautiful. During college, I hardly used to get time to spend some quality time with them. I missed hanging out with friends and cousins. No doubt there were virtual platforms to be in touch with them, but there is different thing in real meetings. With a passage of time, I started to be productive during lockdown. I made a time schedule where I made sure I enhance my skills and planned to do internships. 

Despite of global pandemic, our college got a solution for educating the students through digital platforms so our our learning never stops. Online classes began and it felt better to learn from it. Where there was a complete change in the atmosphere of class, the teacher were motivating us to keep learning and use the best of online classes. Use of technology was the only solution to this pandemic. 

Just like a coin has two sides, similarly every aspect is having positive and negative impacts. Online classroom filled the gap as much as it could. But I believe those who don't want to study will never  focus even if  there physical classroom. I have heard from various students how exams is no more scary as there is a lot cheating and students are promoted on bases of internal assignments which will ultimately affect their future career plans. I hope government takes the right decisions and focus on education and provide students with proper facility to adapt to online classrooms.

No matter what technology comes but no one can match level of knowledge and experience we get from physical classrooms. A survey was also taken where the teachers felt that teaching in physical classrooms is better than online classes. But in order to cope up with the current situation we are left with no choice.
