VIRTUAL GAMES OVER REAL GAMES
As we all know that 2020 is a challenging year for all of us. Every day when we wake up in the morning there is some kind of negativity that surrounds us. We read the news that haunts us and makes us believe that it is hard to survive this year. The people of the world have faced much worse situation during this year but still survived with the blessings of God. What I have learned during this year is that you need to be very strong both mentally and physically. We need to accept the fact that we are all in this together. It's important to support each other during these hard times. No matter what the problem is, one must always try to find some solution.
Since we were told to stay indoors during lockdown, the physical activities of children significantly decreased. They started to seek joy by playing games on mobile phones, tablets etc. Lockdown gave us no other choice and we couldn't let them play outdoor games. But at such age looking at screen for more than 1 hour affects the mental and cognitive abilities of the children. And also it not good for their eyesight. It was difficult for parents as well to to see their children playing virtual games rather than real games. Sitting all day at home has a negative impact on the health.
When parents are anxious and worried, the whole environment becomes tense which affects the mental health of children. So it is the responsibility of parents to be very careful in this situation and try to look on the positive side of the situation. I believe that parents who are working have got a great opportunity to spend quality time with their children. Earlier due to their hectic schedules, they hardly used to get time to spend time with their kids. They must focus on the diet of their children as no outdoor activity may lead to obesity in them that would further worsen the situation. One must used creative ways to entertain their children which would help in their overall personality development. Most importantly, they must restrict the screen time and news time for the benefit of their children.
